Dragpie - Boxy Tee
Dragpies are common across the continent. Although reclusive in some rural area in fear of judgement and isolation, they tend to steal the show in the progressive areas of our nations capital cities. Though mostly harmless these birds seem to have found themselves at the forefront of culture wars for decades, used as a tool to distract the general population from the blood sucking politicians and corporations systematically destroying our land.
Habitat - Fitzroy, Darlinghurst and although unconfirmed, possibly in schools teaching kids how to be drag queens, though this is not confirmed and has only been cited only by begrudged politicians.
Identification - Bedazzling outfit is almost guaranteed. Expect large wigs and extravagant makeup artistry. Comes in array of colours and sizes.
Call - Relatively dainty "yaaaasss queen" in mating season. During breeding season, expect a guttural "what are you lookin at? Never seen a drag before? F*** outta here"
Indigenous names - Woi Wurrung (Melbourne area): "barrawarn", Dharawal (Illawarra/Sydney surrounds): "garugang" or "djiriwunj", Noongar (South-West Western Australia): kulbardi
